Chiropractors are part of healthcare team.
Several years ago, Dr. Reida co-authored the book titled "The Worlds Best-Kept Health Secrets Revealed". His portion of the book talked about the fact that in this day and age the consumer has become much more sophisticated and proactive in taking care of their own health. Years ago, the average patient had one-family doctor and would go to that doctor for virtually any problem they had and in turn they would follow the directions without questioning that doctor's advice. These days the more sophisticated patient or consumer chooses their healthcare team. Often, the patient will have a primary care doctor, a chiropractor, a physical therapist, a massage therapist, a nutritionist, a personal trainer, an acupuncturist, and a variety of other health-care providers. No doctor can take care of all problems, but we at Bass River HealthCare associates enjoy an excellent relationship with other healthcare providers. We are well-equipped to refer you to the Pain Clinic, to a neurosurgeon, to an orthopedic surgeon, to Boston hospitals, to laboratories for blood or urinalysis, to radiology centers for MRIs or CAT scan or ultrasound diagnostics. We interact freely with healthcare providers of all types and we work with the team approach to the patient's benefit. We also receive referrals from local medical doctors about 100 times per year.
Diagnostic & Treatment methods...
Chiropractic care today incorporates a multitude of diagnostic and treatment methods to effectively identify and treat the spinal subluxation complex.
1. Orthopedic, neurological, radiographic, and other examinations are routinely used to evaluate a patient's condition.
2. Comfortable chiropractic equipment and gentle chiropractic methods are employed to adjust the spinal subluxation complex.
3. Soothing ancillary therapies are applied to comfortably promote patient recovery and healing.
4. Patient education, home exercise regimens, and referral for physical therapy (which are used to compliment the chiropractic course of treatment), are important components of patient rehabilitation.
